Beer Factoid: July 12

On this day in 1919, Wisconsin’s Oshkosh Brewing Company introduced a “near beer” called PEP to the public just 12 days after beer became illegal due to the Wartime Prohibition Act. Even though Oshkosh tried to promote and sell this new product to the public, it wasn’t a huge hit by beer lovers.
