On this day in 1978, President Jimmy Carter signs H.R. 1337 to exempt taxation of home-brewed beer made for personal use. The bill truly took effect in February of 1979, but also gave the states with the freedom to pass their own production laws. Thank you for legalizing home-brew, Jimmy!
