Inky Beer Factoid: January 21

On this day in 1979, a man named Eric Siegel wrote an article on Jerold “Jerry” Hoffberger for the Baltimore Sun. Jerry was the first treasurer and future acquisitioner of his father’s brewery, The National Brewing Company, in 1933. The National Brewing Company was most well known for brands such as Colt 45 and National Bohemian “Natty Boh.” Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, Colt 45 is now brewed by the Pabst Brewing Company. We hope that the ads and commercials below remind you of a time where Colt 45 was a source of American pride!
