Inky Beer Factoid: November 6

On this day in 1975, the Sex Pistols first appeared on the music scene in London. “They were responsible for initiating the punk movement in the United Kingdom and inspiring many later punk and alternative rock musicians… The Sex Pistols originally comprised singer Johnny Rotten, lead guitar player Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and bass player Glen Matlock. Matlock was replaced by Sid Vicious in early 1977.”

Sid Vicious was an extraordinary addition to the band, yet like most influential rockers, died young. Beer and Heroin directly contributed to Sid having fun, his ultimate goal. Below is a documentary about Sid and the rise of the Sex Pistols. Cheers to your creative genius, Sid. Thank you for helping make punk music what it is today.
