On this day in 1971, The Oshkosh Brewing Company in Oshkosh, Wisconsin stops making beer after 107 years.  At this time, Oshkosh was brewing 20,000 bbls.

Only a few weeks later, Theodore Mack Sr., at Peoples Brewing, purchased the popular brands; Chief Oshkosh, Badger, Rahr’s, and Lebrau and continued for a couple more years until People’s Brewing shut down production, assets auctioned,  and eventually purchased by Leinenkugel’s and Pabst.
