Inky Beer Factoid: September 29

On this day in 1977, the “Star Wars Theme/Cantina Band,” by music artist, Meco, hits #1.  Meco, aka Domenico Monardo, was so inspired by the movie, Star Wars, that he created a disco version. This single was taken off the album Star Wars and the Galactic Funk and held its number one standing for two weeks. Even today, it is the “biggest-selling instrumental single in the history of recorded music.”

 

Even Big Rock Brewery out of Calgary, Alberta got into creative action with their own version of fighting the “dark side” a.k.a. Budweiser.  Take a look at their short, but epic battle!
