On this day in 1972, Frank Shorter drank 2 pints of beer before running the Olympic Marathon. And by golly… he won the gold medal! Turns out, that if you’re used to a certain training regimen, you will run faster if you keep the regimen, even if it includes drinking before running. So, bottoms up and head out for a jog!
