On this day in 1890, Colonel Pabst from Pabst Brewery traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with Congress. He spent a great deal of energy shipping 75,000 kegs of from his brewery to his bottling plant. In an effort to make this easier, Congress drafted a bill that allowed brewers to transport their beer via a pipe. This system remained in effect until Prohibition began. Prohibition is such a nasty word, eh?
