Dr. B and I excitedly drove to Fort Collins on Friday night to attend New Belgium’s FIRST ticketed event, “Lost in the Woods,” an event celebrating two amazing sour beers, the Transatlantique Kriek and the 2013 La Folie (Sour Brown Ale). We arrived in town a little early, so we went over to Black Bottle Brewing to sample their brews. We loved their IPA and Black IPA; both were unique and very hoppy… our favorite kind!
We arrived at the event a few minutes before the opening and joined other sour lovers in line. Over all, there were 750 tickets sold at the event and the event sold out weeks before the date. (We were SO lucky to have been at the brewery with Skippy, Ryan, and Rachel a few weeks ago to get tickets.) Here is a slideshow of the event including some pretty bad “happy that we’re drinking sour beer all night” shots of Dr. B and I.
Thanks so much to New Belgium for hosting an AMAZING event with tasty food and unique beer. I especially enjoyed tasting the two beers that blended together to make each individual sour. The night made complete with the brewers on hand to ask questions and tell the stories of each beer’s journey. It was a beer geek’s dream. We suggest that all of our readers head to their local bottle establishment and FIND THESE BEERS. They are amazing.
Hope to be back up in your area again soon, Fort Collins!
