Apocalypse Beer and “The End of the World”: Day 8

Apocalypse Beer! Day 8 is Maelstrom.

elysian 8

Beer #8 (August) is a Blood Orange Ale at 7.25% ABV.

What is Maelstrom?

A maelstrom is a very powerful whirlpool; a large, swirling body of water. A free vortex, it has considerable downdraft. The power of tidal whirlpools tends to be exaggerated by laymen. There are virtually no stories of large ships ever being sucked into a maelstrom, although smaller craft are in danger and tsunami-generated maelstroms may even threaten larger craft. (Wikipedia) Will our maelstrom be a physical whirlpool, a natural catastrophe?

Or, quoting, “Into the Maelstrom: We Are Definitely Not Read for What’s About To Happen To Us,” [our maelstrom will be] …what Argüélles [said] about the Galactic Synchronization that’s going to hit us when the Mayan Calendar goes dead in 2012. Exponential expansion of consciousness. Things flying at us way too fast for us to handle… Like functioning in your sleep. Simultaneous events going on. You’re in more than one place at once. Pastpresentfuture all happening at the same time. Jumbled images careening in multiple directions… Exponential expansion of consciousness. Coming soon to a planet near you. Tangents. Competing directions of thought. Which way to go? What is the safest? What is most important? Are they the same? Will we finally have global consciousness?

What Would Inky Beer Do?

In the case of a physical maelstrom hitting Denver, we would run for the hills and apply the “Torrent” plan. However, a global consciousness “maelstrom” is the only thing that Dr. B and I hope will happen on the 21st. The world, in its current state, needs global consciousness and higher consciousness to connect to all the things in the world that we do not yet understand. The picture is bigger than we could imagine.

Get more tattoos!

Or admire more maelstrom-inspired street art…

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow, for Day 9, “Blight!” (a.k.a. THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!)
